Summary: An offshoot of the 1218 (and counting) global hackerspaces, Hackerspace Brisbane is  a community operated physical space where people can meet and work on projects. Has an open night every Tuesday. “Programming, linux, security, micro-controllers, arduinos, electronics, firmware, software, RC-flying (multicopters and planes), UAV’s, cars, mechatronics, robotics, 3D printing, PCB-etching, metal-casting, woodworking, and more… If it can be hacked, we like it!” Lots of stuff for Geeks and Nerds, within their 3 buildings on a 3,500m² plot. And.. “HSBNE Inc is Australia’s first Hackerspace, and one of the physically biggest in the world. We operate as an Incorporated Not-for-profit club, and we’re funded by Membership fees, donations, grants and vending machines.”

Summary: Spring Hill Creat3d hub. A joint initiative of Brisbane City Council and Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland (CCIQ), Creat3d Brisbane aims to give Brisbane businesses an edge and boost commercial innovation across our city. “Our lab is open Tuesday to Thursday, 8.30am-4.30pm. Users must represent or own a business with an ABN within the Brisbane City Council local government area. Businesses are only eligible for one free trial print job of 7 hours or less. A small fee for cost of consumables may be calculated and agreed beforehand if your project requires a longer print run. Think of us as your test facility to decide whether your business should make an investment in 3D technology.”
